We often get quote requests that go something like this:
“We need a video. How much will it cost?”
Fair question. But without the right info, that’s like asking how long a piece of string is. The more you can tell us upfront, the faster (and more accurately) we can quote — and the better the final product will be.
Here are 7 things to include when reaching out to a video production company for a quote.
Are you coming to us with a script and storyboard ready to roll? Or are you looking for help shaping the concept from the start?
The biggest cost factor in any quote is time. So if you need support with creative development, scripting, casting, or location scouting, let us know early.
You don’t need a full marketing strategy — just a little context.
What’s the goal of the video?
Who’s it for?
What’s the key message?
This helps us start thinking about approach, tone, and past projects with a similar scope to reference for quoting.
Are you posting it to YouTube? Running it on LinkedIn? Using it in a pitch meeting?
The intended platform affects how we shoot, edit, format and deliver the video — and what licenses are required for music. Multiple formats for multiple platforms? That adds time, and we’ll factor that into the quote.
Are we talking a 15-second social cut? A 60–90 second brand video? A 3-minute case study?
This might change after talking with us, but having a rough length in mind helps us estimate shoot days, interview setups, edit time, and music licensing.
Found a video you like the vibe of? Share the link.
Whether it’s the pacing, visuals, or messaging — knowing what you’re aiming for helps us better understand what’s in your head (and quote accordingly).
Want drone footage? An underwater camera? Multi-cam setups or green screen work?
Specialty filming adds complexity, crew, and gear — and affects the overall cost. If you have something specific in mind, flag it early so we can build it into the quote (or suggest smart alternatives).
We get it — sharing your budget can feel uncomfortable. But it’s actually super helpful.
Even if your budget doesn’t match our typical scope, we can often tailor the production to suit it. Or let you know what’s possible within that range. No wasted time. No sticker shock. Just a productive conversation.
The more we know, the better we can help. Clear, up-front info leads to quotes that make sense — and videos that do what they’re supposed to do.
